For Your Pet Dog

Summer season is the most difficult season in a dog’s life. During this time, your pet dog can suffer from dehydration and also sunburn. Do you really care for your pet dog? Do you want to make sure that your pet is in the best of its health? Here are some important things that you have to keep in mind for the sake of your pet dog.

Make sure that your pet always gets cool water. If you maintain your dog in the outdoors, make sure that you bring him under the shade during the hot time especially during afternoon.

If your dog is pale and short haired, there are chances of your pet to get attacked to sun stroke or sun burn. Buy sunscreen especially made for them and apply it on your dog’s nose and ear ends. Do not apply sunscreen under his belly as he might lick it off.

Make sure that your pet dog’s paws are protected as they can get burned when you walk them under hot sun. It is better to take a bottle of water with you always when you take your pet dog for a walk as it might prevent your dog from getting dehydrated.

During summer, always give your dog a haircut. Though their fur protects their skin from getting sunburned, a long coat can make them hotter. It is better to consult a vet before knowing what kind of food is needed for your dog’s breed.

Touch your dog and make sure that your dog’s skin is cool. If it is warm, try to cool your pet dog with cool water. Immerse a small towel in cool water and pat your dog down. If you can afford a pool of water, buy it and make it to use it only for your dog and keep it outside in the backyard.

Do not leave your pet unattended in your car as the car windows absorb light and can trap heat inside the car. It could even endanger the life of the animal. If you’re leaving your dog alone in your house with the air conditioner turned on, make sure that your neighbor has your house key so that in case of power cut, they can come in and open windows.
